Poppy Appeal

We are supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, childen can purchase a poppy by giving a donation to the children as they come around the classes.

Also, we will be observing a 2 minute silence on Friday 11th November at 11 am.

Photographs

Orders into the school office by Monday 21st November. They will be collected on the afternoon of Wednesday 23rd November.

Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal

Leaflets are available from the school office or your child’s teacher.

Parents Evening Reminder

Parents Evening will be held over two days on Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10 November. Please note all appointmens are 10 minutes.

Entrance to the school will be via the main Aintree Lane gate.

Parents of junior children should then make their way to the large hall where their meeting will take place. Infant parents should use the infant door between the school canteen and Nursery as their meetings will be held in their child’s classroom.

Year 5 and Year 6 children ONLY are invited to attend the meeting with you is you wish.

Christmas Cards

The Friends will take orders up to Friday 11 November. Please make chdqus payable to The Friends of Davenhill NOT THE SCHOOL. Packs of cards and other ordered goods will be distributed week commencing Monday 5th December.

Assemblies

now that we have our hall back in use, we can resume our celebration assemblies. The KS2 (Junior) assembly will take place on Fridays at 9:10 am.

The KS1 (Infant) assembly will take place on Fridays at 11:45 am.

Class assemblies will start again probably after Christms.

Just a little note to remind that the above Children’s Centres are available to all Parents/Guardians within Sefton. These two centres are there to support our school too.

A barrier will be installed over half term at the entrance to the car park. We hope this will help make our school more secure and create a safer enviroment. Only staff and authorised personnel will be allowed access to the car park.

Please ensure that your child’s teacher is informed if an adult now known to the teacher is collecting your child at the end of the school day.

Recently a number of dogs have been seen in and around the school premises.

Dogs are not allowed on the school grounds we are concerned with a number of children with dirt on their shoes.

Please may we ask for your co-operation in a vitally important mater. One of our pupils is receiving medical treatment. This puts the pupil at serious risk if exposed to measles and chicken pox.

If you child is suspected of having either you should let us know immediately.

Your child is not at risk whatsoever from this situation. However, the health and well-being of our pupil who is at risk, does depend on the co-operation of all other parents and we hope you can help us.

Congratulations to year 5 for winning a place at Finch Farm, they wond their competition on Monday 10th October. Keep it up boys.
